We have been shocked and saddened by the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. Many people across our denomination have been wondering what we can do. First of all we can pray for healing and justice for those most affected and allow them to grieve. We can read and educate ourselves more about the residential school experience across Canada, including Newfoundland and Labrador.
We can also donate to the Healing Fund, this is a fund of our United Church established in 1994 to support healing initiatives for survivors of the Residential School System and its ongoing intergenerational impacts. To give you give via the Healing Fund Website
