CHRISTMAS BAKE SALE – SATURDAY DECEMBER 9, 2023
TUC Coffee Group will be holding a Bake and Craft Sale on Saturday, December 9th from 10 – 1:00pm. If you can help out with donations of Breads, Muffins, Cakes, Cookies, Candy or any crafts it would be greatly appreciated. Donations will be received on Friday, Dec. 8th from 2–4pm and 6–8pm at the church.
2024 CHURCH CALENDARS: The calendars are in! Drop by the office to pick up your order. Cost is $7.50 each.
WARM-UP TREES: Please bring new Hats, Mitts, and socks to hang on the “Warm Up Trees” in the Sanctuary to help keep people warm & cozy over the winter months. Items will be collected until December 13th for delivery Thursday, December 14th.
WINTER COAT DRIVE: TUC has organized a Winter Coat Drive to give back to our community. We are accepting donations of gently used winter coats in all sizes (child, youth and adult). Drop off: Dec 9th, 10-1pm in Sanctuary; Pick Up: Dec 16th, 3-5pm.
We want to stress that there is a “no questions asked” policy for pick up! You can pick up for yourself or someone else you know who is in need this winter.
FOOD BANK CHRISTMAS DONATIONS: The CBS/Paradise Food Bank will help over 400 families this year in the form of Gift Cards for food for a Christmas Dinner. The need is increasing due to the rise in food costs. A single person receives $50 Gift Card, a family of 2-3 receives $75 Gift Card and a family of 4 or more receives $100 Gift Card. Registration continues until December 1st and the Gift cards will be given out December 12th – 21st. Special envelopes are available in church or you can use a regular envelope for your donation and just indicate the amount is for “Food Bank Christmas”. All Donations will be credited to your name or envelope number. Please donate as you are able, every bit helps and is gratefully appreciated.
EMMANUEL HOUSE CHRISTMAS: Coffee Group is raising funds towards the $500.00 that our church traditionally gives to Emmanuel House at Christmas time. We also collect men’s and women’s toiletries and clothing from underwear to jackets (mainly larger sizes) to help those who avail of the programmes at Emmanuel House, which is a part of Stella Burry Community Services and provides residential-based counseling to men and women experiencing social and emotional difficulties. All items must be new. Please help us to help others, by donating items or money for Emmanuel House before December 10th for delivery Thursday, December 14th.
WINDOW REPLACEMENT INITIATIVE: We are happy to announce that our windows have been replaced. The cost is approximately $6000. Any special donations to support this important project will be welcomed.
Our Columbarium is now in place at Topsail United Cemetery. If anyone would like some information on purchasing a Niche, please call the office at 709-834-4567

A Message from Rev Kathy
Welcome to Topsail United Church where you are always welcome. We are a community of faith with a long history who are committed to be disciples of Christ in the here and now, with vision for the future.
At Topsail, we love to praise God in worship which is offered online via Facebook Live and YouTube at 10:30 each Sunday morning. We have a vibrant music program for all ages. We celebrate the gifts of all people and commit ourselves to a creating a warm and welcoming spiritual home for anyone who enters. We serve the church and our wider community and world through our various committees and the dedicated volunteers.
Many accommodations have been made during these Covid-19 times to ensure safety. But be assured we continue to be faithful and devoted to God in all that we do.
